Working through the GRACE Foundation has enabled them to achieve more than ever before on Matetsi Private Game Reserve, with several major conservation milestones accomplished over the past year. The successful completion of our first-ever aerial survey across the full 136,000-acre (55,000-hectare) Matetsi Private Game Reserve is a truly remarkable achievement. This project, led by the GRACE Foundation, was the first of its kind in the whole Victoria Falls area and marked a major step forward in improving how they monitor wildlife populations, assess habitat conditions and inform conservation planning and decision-making. The survey confirmed thriving populations of elephant, buffalo, waterbuck (following our Waterbuck translocation project in 2022) and many other species. These findings will guide conservation planning for years to come.
