Cuisine

The cuisine at Zambezi Grande reflects the best authentic Zambian produce, allowing us to celebrate local and seasonal flavors with a sustainable approach to our menu. The Zambezi River and Zambia have an abundance of incredible produce. It is for this reason we choose to support the local farming communities.

We believe in offering something for everyone, and we are sure guests will find our menu to be a vast and exciting one that is rich in African flavors. Fresh, spicy, and prepared to the highest culinary standards, our menu showcases Zambia’s gifts. We consider a meal is an experience in itself! We offer interactive meals as well as outdoor dining opportunities.

Much of our food is made in-house from scratch by our talented chefs who are passionate about the African bush and prefer to use what is seasonally available. As a result, the food we offer is fresh and interesting, whilst eliminating many of the preservatives associated with conventionally packaged pantry items – which is just the way we like it!

Wellness

Spoil yourself with relaxing and nurturing body therapy, whilst you unwind in the unspoiled African bush. Built with relaxation in mind and inspired by the pure and natural richness of Mother Earth, our exclusive & luxurious wellness treatments are aimed at revitalising and refreshing your mind, body and soul. We use Healing Earth products because they identify with our philosophy of eco-friendliness and sustainability. Chemical free, with bio-degradable or recyclable packaging, Healing Earth do not test any of their products on animals. Being 100% healthy and natural, the Healing Earth range will protect your skin and the environment.

Activities

Zambezi Grande Private Game Experience neighbours the Lower Zambezi National Park, a bountiful 4,092 square kilometres of rich birdlife, indigenous flora and untamed wildlife.

Exploring the terrain, you will encounter a variety of vegetation ranging from forest to open plains, thick bush to palm groves, complementing the splendour of the mighty Zambezi River that runs adjacent to the park.

As an overflow from the unfenced Lower Zambezi National Park, magnificent animal sightings are a regular experience on the Zambezi River. Close to 400 bird species are found in the area, in addition to Elephant, Leopard, Lion and the occasional sighting of the reclusive and endangered African Wild Dog.

Game Drives

Our expert guides will take you on spectacular open vehicle Safaris in exploration of the most magnificent animals in Africa. The Lower Zambezi National Park hosts an abundance of wildlife and offers plenty of opportunity to sight many of the Big 5 on your journey. Enjoy snacks and drinks along the way, stopping off to marvel at the unspoiled terrain.

River Safari

Explore the wilderness with absolute freedom as you journey along the Zambezi River in search of Africa’s finest, unspoiled natural offerings, by boat. Our River Safaris offer guests a unique experience, unlike any other, as you encounter wildlife lingering on the banks in their glorious natural state.

Sport Angling

Unearth the wonders beneath the waters of the great Zambezi River by casting your line for one of the many incredible underwater predators. Although a strict catch-and-release policy is enforced, prized species such as Tiger Fish and Vundu make the Lower Zambezi any sport angler’s dream destination. Whilst we can provide gear and tackle, we recommend that avid fishers bring their own equipment.

Walking Safaris

Discover the astonishingly diverse landscape trailing off the Lower Zambezi National Park while walking with expert guides through the wilderness. Here you will have the opportunity to witness adventure up-close as you walk through open plains on foot, discovering Zambia’s finest flora and fauna.

Birding

The Zambezi River and its surrounds is a paradise for bird enthusiasts, hosting nearly 400 different bird species, including the sought-after Livingstone’s Fly-Catcher and the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl. Birding drives can be arranged, depending on lodge capacity at the time of your visit.
